Two long days… Hmm actually 1.25 looong days of B-plan presentation and I feel I’m already a graduate of business administration!! :D Elaborating on that, we were asked hmm actually ordered to go and attend the Business plan presentation session, it didn’t matter if we didn’t listen but we were the official bell girls, who at the end of 12 and 15 minutes had to ring the bell. And yes let me give a slight insight into the people who were giving the presentations, women of all ages, from girls who have just graduated to women with over 20-30 years experience in a particular field. Here we could see ladies from all walks of field, there were these young pretty gals who had just graduated and had already started and are extremely enthusiastic about their project, there were IIT, NIT, and all US college graduates, housewives who just realized their potential and found this to be an excellent medium to tap it too, there were even various crooked minds who have come with glamorous B-plans to swindle cash out of unsuspecting tourists and foreigners. ;) Oh come on! After all why does someone start a business, to gain profit! And after all this there were even people who came up with absolutely philanthropic ideas too, there was lady who came to present about a garbage disposal system, and when questioned she was like I’ve just come to educate more people and not for any swanky B-plan submission, and their ideas are so altruistic with almost nil gain for themselves, while on the other hand there were ladies with plans helping them earn in millions!
Initially we were just awe-struck with the confidence shown by the women and their ambitious plans and there were even spread sheets with their whole finances chalked out! Man for a common man err woman to do this requires total commitment and dedication. They had great plans for future; it seriously looked as if the future will be definitely dominated by women entrepreneurs. Go girl!! But after sometime as the sessions were divided theme based listening to similar ideas over and over again kind of got boring. But then there was a point when about 3-5 people had like almost the same business plan in the session but the way these girls planned to execute them! Whoa! They were totally different, still we after waking up early to turn up for this were pretty sleepy ringing the bell here and there: D sshh secret ;) :D
And yes our duty as a lady called us the “bell-gals”, we were living an almost non-existent existence there, our bells were completely ignored. And as its said only when you make a mistake the world notices you, there were times when our dear bell just rang off or the times when the fascination of the working mechanism got over us and we had to ring it too see whether our theory held good!! :D
But then after listening to all of them speak it was like we knew so much, actually we just picked up some hi-fi sounding words and kept using it around to give the know-it-all air :D Great fun it was but did make us realize one thing every business however miniscule it maybe the work involved is seriously mammoth!
